Enable Custom Search Description For Blogger

In WordPress, you can use a plugin like Yoast that will automatically add a custom search description for your post based on what you write. In Blogger, this setting is hidden and is not readily available.

The advantages of using a custom search description are that it allows you to place your Focus Keyword in the meta description which will help Google determine what your post is about. How To Enable It

Go into your Blogger dashboard and click the settings tab. From there go into search preferences, and you will see a category called Meta Tags. From there you will see meta description click the box and click to enable it. You should also use this to write a meta description for your website's homepage. 

What To Do After Enabling It

After you have enabled custom descriptions try writing a new post and you will have a new item in your Post Settings and it should look like the following.

Now whenever you are done writing a post click the search description box and write a custom description for your post. I recommend using a description that is no longer than 156 characters.
